About Us!
My name is Peter Cantin, and I am your camp director. This is the 14th year I have held some form of golf camp for kids. For the last 18 years I have been coaching kids in Golf, Baseball, Basketball and Ultimate Frisbee, among other things! I have an 20 year old son named Jerry who is Head Coach of our kids golf team, and assistant pro , teaching lead at Golf Camp. To me, he is more important than anything. I know you feel the same way about your kids, and everything I do here reflects my desire to keep them safe, and for them to enjoy their time at camp. Golf and the values we all associate with it, afford us endless opportunities to teach life's lessons while learning a game that will help guide us for a lifetime.
MR PETERS GOLF CAMP Mr. Peter’s Golf Camp runs all year. Mon-Fri all summer, and weekends during the school year. Separate camps for kids 5-7 and 8-15. For the more serious golfer, I offer a kids golf team. We hold separate practices, and play in tournaments with the US KIDS tour and the No. Cal. JR. Golf Assoc. In camps each day your child gets 3 hours of professional golf instruction. Mixed in we have other fun activities***

like Frisbee* (now just soccer, kick across the field, no goalies no touching the ball with hands no stealing the ball social distance to 10 yards) , boomerangs, making beads, and learning about core values like honesty, integrity and responsibility. Lessons start with the basics of putting, with grip, stance and stroke, and move on to chip and pitch shots. By day three we are in the digital studio breaking down full swing video frame by frame! Our focus is always on pace of play, etiquette, values, course maintenance and sportsmanship. We build up skills and confidence for the “Friday Tournament”, a field trip to a local 9 hole par 3 golf course (Mariners Point/ GG Park, etc.). At Mr Peters Golf Tournament, EVERYBODY wins a prize, and we all do our PERSONAL BEST. Our cool 'kids clubhouse’ is for the exclusive use of Mr. Peters Golf Camp, and is located in the short game area at the San Bruno Golf Center. Our plan is to teach your child the basics of golf and have a good time doing it. We definitely start at the beginning. Even the most accomplished golfers need to spend time on the basics like grip and stance, and that’s where we start. Everyone progresses at different speeds. The kids will fall into different groups doing different activities based on that progression. After a week they will have learned the basics, and be ready to take their games to the next level with your support. (And ours too, we hope!) At the end of the day, our mission is to serve your needs. If your kid is accomplished, and needs work on their sand shots, or they want to learn how to work their short irons to the left and right, let us know! If they are first timers and need it all, they can get that too! Communication is very important to us, so please let us know how we're doing. My name is "Coach Peter", and my son Jerry is almost 18 years old now. I volunteered over 1500 hours in 6 years at Jerry's elementary school, and have become quite comfortable with groups of kids of all ages. I was head coach of the Daly City Pirates Baseball Team and a volunteer Asst Coach for the Aptos Tigers Middle School Baseball Team. I've been coaching kids sports since 2005. That includes seven years of baseball with the Jr. Giants and the Daly City PAL leagues, 3 years of basketball with Daly City Park and Rec, and 2 more years coaching baseball with the SSF Pony league 13-15 year olds and now since 2010 many years of Golf. I started a kids Golf Camp years ago that stressed safety, and fun with Roger Langlois and the Bay Area Golf Academy at the San Bruno / Sneath Lane driving range, now the San Bruno Golf Center. My son plays all the sports, but for me, golf is my favorite. I have played over 1000 rounds since i started and I practice more than I play. I love using the latest in technology when I am teaching. I have spent hundreds of hours watching swing video, but I have just found a new device that is changing the way I teach! Its called the 3 Bays GSA, it's a swing analyzer.
